Burial or Cremation

simply-beautiful-funerals-burialsFlexibility of Options

The two main forms of funeral rites adopted by most people are either cremation or burial and based on various personal reasons, including family traditions and/or family beliefs.

Burial is seen as the more traditional option and often involves a graveside committal service. We also offer a single graveside service which is perfect for those wanting a simple and dignified farewell with minimum fuss.

Ultimately, this decision is a matter of personal choice which we encourage and support whilst providing the available information and options to assist you in making an informed decision.

Our Special Touch

We feel music is comforting and calming therefore, whilst your loved one is in our care, we surround them with the sound of their favourite music/songs whilst tenderly preparing them for their final farewell.

Families sometimes participate in this process for religious or personal reasons and we are happy to accommodate where possible.

We welcome families to participate in the washing and dressing of their loved one. Such an occasion is quite celebratory and aides in the healing process which marks the process of moving away from fear to honouring the miraculous gift of life with this blessed and sanctified ritual.

It’s all a matter of choice and we are guided by each family, whilst offering the support you require.

The ambiance of our viewing room provides a comforting and reassuring environment, accompanied with soft lighting and soothing music. It is both tranquil and serene.

About The Viewing

Throughout our entire lives, we weave in and out of ceremony which is our rite of passage to celebrate in the manner we choose.

A viewing is a valuable experience, and has been a part of the funeral traditions of many people and cultures.

Where possible, we encourage all families including children, to spend a little quiet time in reflection with their loved one to adjust to the reality of the death prior to the funeral service.

It is also an opportunity to say those ‘little things’ you wished you could have said, together with placing a private letter, a flower or personal item of significance alongside your loved one for your piece of mind.

Not all viewings are a solemn occasion. Many families chose a private ‘celebratory’ farewell prior to the service in a venue of their choice, which provides and an avenue of opportunity to express their love and heartfelt feelings. It is an occasion to share special memories, treasured stories and perform customary rituals in a very relaxed way. These moments are sacred.

A very common practice is to toast a loved one by sharing one last tipple or food together whilst popping a special tribute into the casket and listening to their favourite music.

Conversely, many families find that sitting in quiet reflection with the closed coffin or casket can be a comforting experience.

However confronting, this is a very personal decision. Reflection time with an open or closed coffin/casket can also be beneficial in assisting with the grieving process.

Whilst the actual funeral is a public event, a viewing is generally private with family and carefully chosen friends.
